The big tourist resorts are probably okay and using tour guides are often a good thing but […] Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 22950 – 1034 Here’s the haps: Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 22925 – 1012 Here’s the haps: I am signed up for an email service called “The Good Clean Funnies List” which normally, just as it says, sends out a daily joke that is clean and funny. Occasionally they do serious things, too. This was one of them. When I think of all the […] Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 22924 – 1011 Here’s the haps: When I realized that this would be the one-thousandth post I have done on the blog I had an idea of picking a few of my favorites and doing something with them. Kind of a funtastic free-for-all. Then I realized it would post on Veterans Day this […] Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 22675 – 946 Here’s the haps: Failure to enforce our sovereign borders and allow over two million undocumented persons to come into the country unimpeded. There is quite a busy street that feeds into Fort Carson called South Academy Boulevard and they were young so I would walk them across the street to the college where the bus stop was. One minute […] Many of you know or know of, my friend Carter, especially if you’ve read any of the back posts. He survived being blown up in an IED incident in 2006 which I attempted to chronicle here. That article had originally been posted on a previous blog site I used to use and I wasn’t able […] Greetings, everyone. In the United States of America this is holiday called Memorial Day. People will be having picnics and barbecues and doing a lot of fun things. We will be going over to Ben’s house and having a variety of things, including, of course, German Potato Salad. It’s going to be a fun day, […] The other day my wife handed me a sheaf of papers to go through. This is nothing new, especially since I am a slob and a pack-rat. These papers were some reprints of blogs and articles that I had printed off for her, I don’t remember why. One that caught my attention, however, was from […] On Veteran’s Day, many of the area businesses recognize the contribution of all of our military veterans. This post is just a shout-out to say thanks to all that these businesses gave out today. The lines were really, really long, but it was worth it in the end. Started off the day with a free […] Military – The Haps With Herb

  1. Good ones, Herb. My father was in the Pearl Harbor attack, stationed on a destroyer. My grandfather fought in the battle of Belleau Woods in France, 1918. They never talked much about their time in the service, until the end of their lives. Those two generations were tough and kept it close to the vest. Different world now, but we still have those who will serve and sacrifice.

    1. Yes sir. Thanks to your father, grandfather and men like them, we are still around.

  2. 100% on every one of these, Herb.

  3. Spot on! Thank you for your service…

  4. Thank you for these!
