Cocaine‽‽‽ Curmudgeonly Monday – Secret Service Says…

Here’s the Haps:

I have not been doing a lot of politics lately, it’s just a weariness of mind to me. The Left is still mindlessly marching in lockstep and the media regurgitates their talking points. The Left is strong because they won’t break ranks and will not hesitate to even eat their own if they get out of step, like RFK Jr. and Jay Nixon. The Right is no better with the majority of them wetting their finger and sticking it in the air to see what direction the polls will send them rather than standing on principles. And they eat their own as well. But this is what happens when a nation forgets God and has no moral absolutes. John Adams said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”(Psa 9:17) Or as the Book of Herb says, “Why is it getting so hot and what is this handbasket we’re riding in?”

Someone left a small baggie of cocaine in a cubby at the White House and the Secret Service can’t figure out who it belonged to? They have closed the case because they lack physical evidence, no DNA or fingerprints, the video available does not show any person acting more suspiciously than anyone else, and to interview 500 people is just not worth it‽‽‽ One of the news articles I read said there was a “blind spot” in the video cameras where they just can’t see that portion.

When I worked in the Money Center and Customer Service at the Big Blue Box, 8 years ago, the video system could easily read the serial number on the money and you could see the texture of the paper; it could also view a handwritten check close enough to tell its authenticity. They could track, uninterrupted, the actions of a guy who came in, took an empty cart back to the electronics department. They watched him put a printer in the basket and wheel it up to the customer service desk and attempt to return it. And the White House can’t figure out who left a baggie of Cocaine in a cubby in a high-trafficked area. Really‽‽‽ (See, I told you the Interrobang is an immensely useful mark and should be canonized as a real punctuation mark.) And Hunter had just visited two days before. This ought to be disconcerting to any law-abiding citizen, let alone to security personnel everywhere. On the serious side, what if this had been a bomb?

This is the absolute summary of your entire post—(with exception of the memes)–“But this is what happens when a nation forgets God and has no moral absolutes. — We need a great national revival …otherwise we are going to end up like ancient Jerusalem….They were sorely sifted for their disobedience to God and they were slow in learning their lessons …when they were disobedient they suffered deeply, when they were obedient they were rewarded graciously — we need to learn that lesson from History ourselves. — But I fear the lust for instant materialistic self-gratifications and the belief that people do not need God is going to bring some dark times to our own shores. We are already on the brink –many of the signs of empirical decline are already evident in our paradigm. People need to wake up–and quickly.

  3. Hey, Herb, unfortunately I suspect we may have passed a “point of no return” for America to turn back. But then, I think of Nineveh, and it was just 40 days before the judgment was coming, and they did a 180 that would put a moonshiner’s j-turn to shame!
    So we pray… and wait to see. Like Habbakuk, “In the midst of the years revive it; in the midst of the years make it known; in wrath remember mercy.” (3:2)

  4. I agree with you that a lack of morality is the foundation of most – if not all – of the political and social problems everywhere. I too believe that religious faith helps people maintain a basic morality. Because there is a lack of morality, particularly in political circles, I think the possibility that the cocaine was planted by a Republican supporter is, not only possible, but likely. Based on what I’ve heard about people who use the drug, I can’t imagine that someone who actually uses cocaine would be so careless with it, let alone take it into the White House. I guess none of us will ever know, and because we’re all so human, we will continue to believe the theories that make us comfortable. I just noticed the comment by John, and the Russian agent idea is also interesting.

    • My thought about the Republican idea is that the Secret Service would have come out guns ablazin’. A foreign agent is also possible. There’s really nothing “normal” about the situation at all including that they re just going to drop it.

    I believe that people can be ethical and moral without being religious, just as there can be religious people who are unethical and immoral.

  6. Just wait. Another count will be added to the indictment against Trump any day now, because it was clearly placed there by him.
