Some good friends of ours gave us some meat today. I always marinate it. I have for years. I know not everybody marinates it, but it’s what I like. We picked up this recipe card at the Shawano County Fair back in the early 1980s. I’ve modified it a bit, but not a whole lot. Why it’s called “Cowboy’s Marinade” I have no idea. I score each piece a number of times and pound it with a meat hammer and let it soak in this mixture overnight.
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp dried rosemary leaves
1/2 tsp pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
2 tbsp catsup
1 tbsp A-1 steak sauce
2 tbsp salad oil
3 tbsp soy sauce
1/3 cup wine vinegar
1 tsp liquid smoke
What a blessing!
Yum….thanks for sharing the marinade mixture. We will definitely try that.
Yes ma’am. We think it’s worth trying, lol.
My sister’s ex was an avid grilled, and he always marinated.
Griller. Darn autocorrect! (Notice how quickly “autocorrect” itself was accepted by our machine overlords…)
Lol! Yes, autocorrect. I used to read “Magnus Robot Fighter 4000 A.D.” comic book when I was a kid, so they are probably onto me.
Thanks for sharing the recipe. Looks delicious. My daughter would eat steak everyday if she could.
Yummy to da tummy!
Maybe it’s the best way to marinate a cowboy?
I didn’t think my comment had been posted, but it wouldn’t let me post it again without changing it slightly. This is what I get for trying to pull one over on our machine overlords.
Interesting that you are the second commentator to mention our machine overlords.
You know, marinating a cowboy sounds like a process from one of Bruce’s stories.
That’s a bit tough! They say white man’s flesh is too salty. I found that to be true.
It’s our diet. Americans eat a lot of sodium.
Perhaps it’s the best way to marinate a cowboy?
Glad you enjoyed them, thx for the recipe.
Yes ma’am, thank you!
