I was reading about how Walmart and some other big retailers are providing bonuses and/or hazard pay to employees on the front lines. I asked what we were going to get. “Oh, we just get that letter from the CEO.” “What letter?” “You didn’t get the letter?” “No.” “Well, it said that we are very important and essential.”
When I went to the break room I discovered that someone had printed off a couple of memes and posted them on the bulletin board and nobody made them take them down. I don’t consider myself to be a real negative person, yet I took a picture of these to share how some people feel about the whole situation.
That sucks big time.
True. But sacrificial/essential isn’t bad. It’s helping somebody somewhere to get what they need.
