Aww…Get Jabbed, Man!

Herb’s Blog, Herbdate 22935 – 1023

Here’s the haps:

Interestingly to me, the term “jab” for getting a shot is pretty apropos, really. Mrs, Herb, TNT, and I went to get a covid booster, a flu shot, and the missus and I got our first Shingles vaccination. Shingles is a pretty nasty and painful disease that people of a certain age get (although we do know a younger person who had it as well) and we decided that since we were eligible we would take that shot too. As I watched the pharmacist, who had the same name as me, the word “jab” described perfectly what he did. There’s not a better word for it, really.

Jab is really a great term and one of the examples of how the internet has made the world a little smaller place. As George Bernard Shaw said, “England and America are two countries separated by a common language.” But, from now on I plan to use the term “jab” whenever I get a shot. And I hope this little post today will be a real shot in the arm to all of you.

Thanks, Herb … I just got my latest covid 19 booster yesterday and so far no problems at all. This makes the 5th time I have been jabbed for covid and I also got my flu shot the other day too.

I don’t know why I’m always the lucky one to get the symptoms, lol.

Hi Herb quick question, who is TNT? I have been wanting to ask you for a while now. 😊

    1. Herb Avatar

Oh, sorry. She is the daughter that lives with us who has MS. Her real initials are TNT.

Jab is indeed a good descriptor for some pharmacist techniques Herb. Since March 2020, we have had 2 pneumonia jabs, 2 shingles jabs, 3 flu jabs and 5 Covid jabs. A bit of a pin cushion scenario. Shingles had the worst after effects. Allan

Maybe that’s what I had the reaction too. I always seem to get the symptoms right after the shot.

As an aside, one of my favorite COVID related posts of all time was the one you did about Corvid 19.

    1. Herb Avatar

lol, thanks. I had fun doing that one, too.

Funny cartoons, but I’m going to let the genie out of the bottle and express my disdain for the mRNA “vaccines.” They are genetic therapy, not true vaccines. The mRNA is converted into DNA in the liver. True vaccines use attenuated viruses and stimulate the immune system to make antibodies.
In contrast, the mRNA vaccines appear to weaken the immune system for fighting covid, thus requiring more and more frequent boosters, according to Dr. Robert Malone, one of the main developers of the mRNA technology in the “vaccines.”
What is most interesting is how mainstream media is now portraying this quite successful and quiet doctor as a glory hound who is lying because he does not subscribe to the party line that the mRNA should be given to children as young as 6 months old, and he warned of health risks from a treatment that had not passed clinical trials, even yet.
Sincerely hope you all survive taking the government’s medicine.
    genuinely, ❤️&🙏, c.a.

From what I’ve read on ‘both sides of the aisle’ Robert Malone isn’t entirely credible – nor are many media reports, government directives and ‘commenters’ on blogs. I hope most people have a trusted Doctor or pharmacist to help them made a decision on what ‘jabs’ are best for them personally.

      1. Herb Avatar

Thanks for that comment, Margy. I have a fairly good doctor and what you say is sound advice for anyone.

    2. Herb Avatar

Thank you for that. If the good doctor is not say the current mantra the mainstream media will, of course, villify him.

Ugh ive had the multi jab when getting blood work

    1. Herb Avatar

It’s annoying to me because I always seem to get all the symptoms after I get the shot.

      1. Matt Avatar

Yeah, lately with the boosters I have only had major fatigue for three days, sucks that you deal ALL the symptoms.

    Didn’t you already have covid?

    1. Herb Avatar

      Yes, I did.

      1. bluebird of bitterness Avatar

I thought you didn’t need more jabs if you’ve already had it.

        1. Herb Avatar

We were suggested to have the booster.

  11. bekitschig Avatar

I hope you guys are recovering well!
My better half had Shingles a few years ago. They didn’t let him out of the hospital for a week, which must mean something. Here’s the punch line; he cannot get a vaccination now because he is too young?!?

    1. Herb Avatar

Yeah, it’s that way over here, too. Shingles is no joke, either.Painful, nasty business.

  12. J P Avatar

I continue to maintain that I’m not old enough for a flu shot. How long I can keep making this case is still up in the air. As for Covid, I got the 2 original jabs but have not done a booster. Any vaccine that 1) doesn’t keep me from catching Covid and 2) doesn’t prevent me from passing it on seems to not be worth the risk of ill effects (which are not zero) for someone extremely light on risk factors for Covid.

You make a very valid point.
