A Moment Of Silence

Here’s the haps:

Today would be Grandma Pike’s 92nd birthday. My wife’s mother lived with us for most of our married life. She did not fit the stereotype of a mother-in-law at all and was easy to get along with. She was instantly beloved by anyone who met her. Her nephew has purchased a stone for her grave and we will have what I guess you would call an unveiling of it tomorrow.

  1. I loved grandma pike! She was such a joy to be around and always with a smile ! I’m so honored I was able to spend those last moments with grandma pike in the hospital. I will always treasure every moment we had together. I’m so happy to hear a stone was able to be purchased. ❤️

  2. Praying for you and your family today and specially on Monday.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

  3. It sounds like she was a great lady. What a blessing that you made a place for her in your home. I have decided that the atomization of families is something our culture has gotten very wrong.

  4. I am also sorry I did not see this sooner. I have a hole in my system of following posts. You and your mother-in-law are both amazing. I envy how you get along with everyone!

    • She was a good person. She never said a lot but she took an interest in whatever was going on. She was easy to get along with.
