Thoughts To Ponder

Dear Fans, Friends, Fiends, Foes, Foundlings, and Frogs,

I just threw that last one in to see if you were paying attention. I have been pretty busy with life lately and finding time to maintain my commitment to blog every day has been tough to keep up. I have several longer posts in the works but I have also been having fun going through the older e-mails and finding some hidden treasures, though. Right now my USB port is committed to recovering my wife’s external hard drive, so some of the archives are temporarily unavailable. I was thinking I didn’t want the poor computer to get confused about what was where and this scan is making the computer earn its keep. I only hope (and pray) that the recovery is successful.

A word of advice, this is something I learned over the last couple of days, is that when you are using a storage device that connects by USB you should always use the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” button in the system tray.

I’ve started another story that I was going to post on the blog but it is really growing into something of its own. I’m not sure what I will do with it when I’m done.

I wonder, is it only in the USA that:

People order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.

Banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.

We leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.

We buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.

We use the word ‘politics’ to describe the process so well: ‘Poli’ in Latin meaning ‘many’ and ‘tics’ meaning ‘bloodsucking creatures’.

And one of the things that I really wonder about, why is it that the drive-up ATM has Braille lettering on it?
