Lost Archives

I’ve been re-reading some of the stuff I wrote in previous years and got to the parts about my parents’ last visit and my mom’s funeral in 2006 (June 11 -17/06 and 8/26/06) and feeling a little sad. Then I read some of the archives I recently discovered from ’09, including a couple that have never been published and a couple that were published when I was on the old software and I thought were lost.

I think that the entry yesterday seemed a bit forced, posting it on both days, so, unless I rewrite something specifically or significantly, I will just post it to its original date. Email subscribers should find themselves receiving notification of the archives being posted as well as an email for whatever I post new that day. If it gets to be too much or if people complain, I will suppress the outgoing notifications for the archives.

Then, of course, there are some items I found that have been around so long that they have been forgotten. Like this little masterpiece.

No Tail Light

“How long have you been driving without a tail light?” asked the policeman after pulling over a motorist. The driver jumped out, ran to the rear of his car, and gave a long, painful groan. He seemed so upset that the officer was moved to ease up on him a bit.

“Come on, now,” he said, “you don’t have to take it so hard. It isn’t that serious.”

“It isn’t?” cried the motorist. “Then you know what happened to my boat and trailer?”
