Here’s the haps:
I think this little girl is probably a bit overwhelmed by the camera and everything. She’s an eight-year-old Second Grader who competes in the rodeo and she donated half of her earnings to a Breast Cancer charity.
I really like how the East Idaho News does their Feel Good Friday segments. It’s not overdone or overly dramatic but is, in my opinion, an appropriate amount of recognition. It is really nice that they recognize people in their community who have done something good.
What a good example she is!
That’s what I thought.
I am just very pleased to discover that there are still some communities out there where some people do some good for others. But I also believe that any donations to so-called “Cancer Research” are wasted money because I am a curmudgeon who believes there will never be a cancer cure until cancer stops being a Trillion-dollar-a-year profit generating machine. I applaud the little girl’s kind, caring and compassionate heart. She deserves the recognition. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
I am also that curmudgeon, and I watched my Mom die of cancer so I know how horrible it is.
I’m sorry. I hope you know it isn’t my intention to make anyone relive any awful moments. I was trying to recognize the little girl’s spirit. I apologize for causing any grief.
I get it. She is being very thoughtful. My conflict comes from my belief that what she is supporting is more or less a scam, and that changes things. I’m not offended or anything, I’m just being something grumpy on the net.
Well, I know that what you say bears truth and I have Curmudgeonly Monday for when I am grumpy on the net.
We tend to believe that good people are in some kind of minority. They’re not, but for some reason we just don’t see them.
It is too bad that they aren’t recognized more than all of the junk in the 24 hour newscycle.
You are part of the Something Nice brigade by spreading these stories. Somebody needs to bring you Skittles.
Awww…M&Ms would be cool, too.
That is so sweet 😊❤️
It really is.
It occurs to me that you could send Skittles and M&Ms and gift cards for a steak dinner to all of us, then you could be the subject of your own feel-good post! I promise in advance to “like” it and to make an affirming comment. 🙂
And you know, each and every one of my readers is so deserving of at least that and so much more that it pains me to say that, at this point in time, not having become fabulously, indepently wealthy from what I expected would be a lucrative blogging career, I simply cannot afford it. Yet. When I can I will certainly let everyone know.
(That’s supposed to represent tongue-in-cheek)
Well OK, I’ll buy some Skittles and think of you. 🥳🍻
Oh, so cute and so heartwarming. And so sweet. When he says “skittles”, I think those little boys all want to come over, but they are probably told not to. Soooooo cute.
