A New Comment System and a Quiz

I’m trying out a new WP comment system plugin called wpDiscuz. What I am hoping is that it will keep people’s comments from going into spam for no apparent reason. Or worse, as in the case of Bruce, over at Weave A Web never making it here at all. I want to give an opportunity for anyone who wants to comment to be able to. To me, comments are highly meaningful and I really appreciate them. Akismet does an excellent job of keeping the nasty stuff off but it also keeps desired comments off sometimes, too. Like Lydia, who has over 130 approved comments, in the dashboard, many of them say, “Approved by Herb” next to them because I went into the spam folder and approved them. If you are a real person, I would like to hear from you, so please be aware that I am trying to be proactive.

I don’t mind doing quizzes and questionnaires sometimes and as I was going through the old stuff I came across this quiz I had taken back in 2015. A blogging friend had it on their blog and I had used it. It was a real thing, from the Australian government on a job board. The quiz is still available at https://joboutlook.gov.au/careerquiz. The graphic has changed over the last five years and I would guess the questions have, too, but there still seems to be something like a trend here.

First is 5/15/2015:

Then I took it again in August of that year, exactly three months later, 8/15/2015:

Then I forgot all about it for five years. Today I went back and did it, almost exactly five years later, 5/13/2020:

60% creative, 20% enterprising, 6% administrative, 6%analytical, 6% practical, 0% helping

I apologize if the graphics are poor quality and hard to read. I’d love to help you out, but, as you can see, I’m not too helpful.

  1. Shocking thing is, I FINALLY found out how most of my comments go to spam. At least I hope… I’m gonna give it a couple of days to prove itself.
