The Big Six Oh

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

God – Psalm 90:10-11

The Psalmist gives hope of threescore and ten
And if we are strong it may be fourscore
But, truth is, those hopes are only lent
For who can tell they’re promised one day more?

And yet we live life oh, so recklessly
Ever thinking tomorrow’s on its way
The young feel sure they will live endlessly
Often living carelessly day to day

But life can be done in a finger-snap
Death’s bony grip cares not for youth or age
Thinking to live here forever’s a trap
Live! Knowing there’s a life beyond the grave

Live and pray each day like it was the last
And learn to forgive, not re-live, the past
