K is for Kudos

Kudos is what all of you fine readers out there deserve.  When I went to look it up at a couple of dictionary spots I found that it means, “honor; glory; acclaim: praise or respect that you get because of something you have done or achieved.”  Along with the definition is a list of synonyms, one of which is the word “props.”

I had seen this term used before, in fact, and knew it was something positive by its context, but didn’t know where it came from.  Well, apparently it is short for “Proper Dues.”  So when you give someone props you are giving them their proper dues or, perhaps by extension, the respect and admiration that is their proper due.

So, anyway, kudos & props to all of you who have been with me these last couple of weeks and kudos and props to the website http://www.insecurewriterssupportgroup.com/ as well.  I didn’t officially sign up with them but the idea inspired me to get back to doing what I need to be doing, getting into the habit of writing something, anything, at least once a day.

The archives up through 2006 are restored and categorized so far and there’s some good stuff in there.  To make sure and get this posted I will have to do it now or never, and so gentle reader, I shall.
